So it's saturday night. The kids are in bed and one is confirmed asleep, the other well she's not. But she is in bed and is laying quietly.

It's felt like a short week in some ways and long in others. Each day it seems I have had something pressing to do: call dell about the fuck ups pn my computer, call att get new phones, call att again and return new phones for other less teenage looking phones(call me vain), call landlord about roof, grocery shop, pick up dresser for Miss H's room, get a labotomy, what? Oh sorry, day dreaming.

It hasn't been bad just busy and even the day I chose to sit and do less ended up...yep, busy.

I decided to balance it out with getting back into a routine, which helps me a ton. I now understand why my mom had a list of "to do's". Women with the Cherrington gene(my mom's mom)NEED lists. They actually help me stay focused and live a produvtive day out. Plus I get a great thrill from crossing off something....is that sad???? Perhaps:)

I guess that's all the gab I have right now, nothing too exciting but stuff I think we can relate to: life never slows down, even when you plan it. Ah-well, that's what coffee and booze is for. Coffee to keep you going and booze to help you unwind....

Bottoms up folks.

Stuff

Hello Everyone!

It seems I have been away from this site for a while, though realistically it's only been a week.

Mr. D arrived home from Nola after a week of guest spotting in Metairie out at Doc Don's. He had a wonderful time seeing old friends and working. His apprentice, another Mr. D, went along as well to tattoo. He really liked the city (what's there not to like? OK well maybe a few things).

Miss H and Mr O and I held down the fort here. We didn;t do anything spectacular really though I feel I made a break through with my clutter. I am hoping to maintain this and so far so good.

It is about time for school and we have most of our books. Science, Art, Music, Reading and math are ready to go. We have yet to get History, Writing and Spelling. All in good time. I have been tempted to go ahead and start with what we have and try to work our way through them and finish them up around x-mas. After the greed-mas passes, start on history etc and work with an aim to finish up by late spring. This is one thing I love about homeschooling (as pointed out by a friend on facebook), the flexibility rocks! OK I sound like a nerd there but you get my gist.

It's a quiet night here at home, both kids are in bed and I feel like joining them but I won't. I'm going to finish my beer and write. I finally finished a kids book and now I am off to try and finish another. One day I may actually be a published author but until then I write for my own ( and my kids) pure enjoyment. Miss H put the stamp of approval on my first book so that's all the approval I need.

Though a book deal would be delicious.

On second thought

Si i decided NOT to do a homeschool blog because I have too much to keep up with for starters and I joined Facebook, the ultinate evil and I like it.

For today the library to make puppets, to a friends house to make practice cakes of transformers for her sons upcoming bday and then home to probably watch "sisterhood of the traveling pants" part deux. Have I mentioned I'm a nerd?

Anywho, Mr O has decided he is not going to give up the boob so easy. He is nursing with a vengence during day hours since I took his night time buffet away. He yells and screams at night when he awakes. But I have got that down to about 15 minutes-hopefully it will be a distant memory by this time nexy week-(nervous laughter here).

I am thinking that while I help make these practice cakes Mimosas would be nice....

I am fixing the doorknob on my bathroom today. Actually it is half done. The old knob is off and tommarrow I will buy a new one and attach it. Anyone who has been in my bathroom and felt the panic when you try to get out and the knob won't turn at which point you start yelling Help! Help! but no one can hear you because you are at the back of the house, knows what I am talking about. So yes New knob.

Time to go and get things gathered for the library.

lala

Dale made it succesfully to New Orleans after leaving here at 10 pm and driving through the night. The pulled into the crescent city around 6am and as of 9:30 last night they had not slept. I am sure they passed out immediatly once they closed their eyes last night.

Here at home things continue on the same. The biscuts are in and my coffee is made. It tastes a bit like cigarettes.

I don't mind though, I kind of want a cigarette.

To do it or not to do it

I am speaking of the new evil .... yes Facebook. EVERYONE I know is on this damnned thing! Here's the rub: Three years ago When I was on it, no one was on it so I closed it down! The Irony!!!! If I open an acount, that means I will have an email, myspace, blogger and various other miscilaneous "clubs" I belong to, mostly to do about writing or books, either way, it's one too many.

If I drop one, which one do I drop? The email stays of course. Myspace is a family myspace so it stays. The random "clubs" I could really do without as I honestly don't use or visit them much, they mostly clutter up my inbox. I honestly have thought of shutting this down (even though I just opened a new one for homeschooling!) as there is nothing really of greatness to report and it is mostly my mutterings.

So I am left with the question of "To be or not to be" or rather, "to do it or not to do it?" The latter doesn't have the poetic ring.......maybe a trial run and if I don't like it, I guess I could shut her down......I'm a sucker.
